Before we dive into your story, I want you to think first about the types of stories you enjoy reading and why.

Particular elements and the style of the story determine the type of novels you read and may write. The categories in which various stories fall are called "genres".

In this course, we'll be working on Commercial Fiction, which is also known as Genre Fiction.

There are quite a few genres as well as several sub-genres you may wish to consider for your book. We'll now take a look at the main ones...
